Flash in the Pan Blog RSS Feed

The Flash in the Pan Blog harkens back to that exciting moment in prospecting when after a log day in digging, you look down into your pan and see that bright flash of gold gleaming back up at you. If you have ever seen it before...you will never forget it. Using this blog, we will discuss how to find gold, where to find gold, review the best and worst prospecting equipement available and follow real gold prospectors out into the gold fields and learn from their failures and triumphs. So, pull up a comfy chair, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy.

If you have any comments, questions or concerns - please feel free to send them right along to me.

The Parks Dept is holding a meeting because the surfriders foundation says there wasn't enough public notice and input on the rules. The meeting is at the Montesano city hall at 6pm on Feb. 16th.

Kathy Greer of the surfriders foundation anticipates there will be suggestions to amend the new rules and try to impose a $150 fee for the permit!

If people can't attend maybe they could email Lisa Lantz who is an enviornmental planner for the parks dept at Lisa.Lantz@Parks.WA.GOV in support and how we're helping out the depressed local economys.

Please call my cell phone, at 206-271-9042 if you need immediate assistance. The store phone is full and power keeps going on and off. We plan on being open this week, but if the weather is really bad, we are not anticipating many customers, and we will be closed. At least Wednesday maybe Thursday if the weather gets worse.

We will be open this weekend for sure. Hwy 2 is being plowed but still pretty messy here, and the future wind storm could take out power. If you have any questions you can call my cell number at 206-271-9042. Thanks! Keep warm & safe! Michele Brawn
